The Opportunity
An established engineering and infrastructure consultancy is seeking a Land Liaison Officer to join a major road infrastructure project team based in Mullingar.
This role will involve working directly with landowners, property owners, contractors, local authorities and project teams to facilitate access, surveys, advance works and the delivery of agreed accommodation works. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and supporting the smooth progression of the project.
You will be primarily based in Mullingar, with regular meetings and site visits during the working week.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with land and property owners affected by the project, providing clear and accurate information.
- Coordinate access to privately owned land for contractors undertaking surveys and advance works.
- Engage with stakeholders to identify and agree appropriate accommodation works for inclusion in project designs.
- Review and verify land ownership information held by the relevant local authority.
- Make reasonable enquiries to establish and confirm land ownership where required.
- Maintain accurate records of stakeholder communications, agreements and project information.
- Attend stakeholder meetings and site visits as required.
- Work closely with the wider project, engineering and construction teams to resolve land and access issues.
- Support effective communication between affected landowners, contractors and project representatives.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in construction, infrastructure or stakeholder management.
- A good understanding of urban road construction and its impact on surrounding land and property.
- An understanding of farming practices and rural land management.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent note-taking, organisational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to navigate and use GIS systems.
- A full driving licence.
- Access to your own vehicle.
- Fluent or highly proficient spoken and written English.
