About the Role
A leading planning and environmental consultancy is seeking a Graduate LVIA Specialist to join its growing team in Galway.
This is an excellent opportunity for a creative graduate interested in Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) and environmental planning. You will contribute to a diverse range of infrastructure projects, including renewable energy, grid infrastructure, extraction and residential developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs).
- Undertake fieldwork and photography to support landscape and visual assessments.
- Prepare baseline constraints mapping and spatial analysis.
- Produce high-quality maps and visual outputs using GIS and related tools.
- Assist with reports for planning applications and Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs).
- Research landscape, environmental and planning information.
- Work closely with graphics specialists and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Coordinate assessment information and ensure project outputs are delivered accurately and on time.
- Contribute to projects across renewable energy, grid infrastructure, extraction and housing.
- Develop your technical knowledge through mentoring and practical project experience.
About You
- Degree in Landscape Planning, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Geography, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in landscape, visual assessment and environmental planning.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
- Creative, confident and enthusiastic approach.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
Desirable Skills
- Experience using GIS software.
- Understanding of the Irish planning system and planning policy.
- Knowledge of environmental policy and assessment processes.
- Experience with photography and surveying techniques used for photomontages.
- Valid driving licence.
