Construction Quality Manager

About the Role
A leading engineering and project delivery consultancy is seeking an experienced Construction Quality Manager to support the delivery of major school construction projects across Ireland.
Working as part of a site supervision and project delivery team, you will be responsible for monitoring construction quality, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and standards, and supporting contractors and project teams through to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor construction activities and verify compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Carry out quality inspections and maintain accurate project records.
- Review contractor inspection and testing documentation.
- Identify, record and support the close-out of defects and non-conformances.
- Assist with snagging, completion inspections and project handover.
- Prepare quality reports and maintain comprehensive site documentation.
- Attend site meetings and provide updates on quality matters.
- Liaise with contractors, designers, clients and project representatives.
- Promote high standards of quality, safety and continuous improvement.
- Support the Resident Engineer, Employer’s Representative and Project Manager as required.
Requirements
- Membership of the Clerk of Works Institute.
- Proven experience working on building construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building regulations and quality assurance.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience in site supervision, quality inspection, Clerk of Works or similar roles.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel between project sites.
Desirable
- Knowledge of BCAR requirements and Irish construction standards.
- Experience on education, healthcare, public sector or commercial projects.
- Qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Surveying or a related field.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection procedures.
