About the Role
A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join its Dublin team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior mechanical engineer to take responsibility for the delivery of building services projects, work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and support the development of junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design and project delivery from briefing through to completion.
- Develop strong relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
- Prepare mechanical specifications and equipment schedules.
- Complete heating, cooling and ventilation calculations.
- Produce and review detailed technical calculations and design documentation.
- Coordinate with specialist technical teams to enhance project delivery.
- Represent the mechanical design team at client and project meetings.
- Carry out site surveys and monitor construction progress.
- Manage project deliverables, budgets and technical requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to junior team members.
- Take a lead role within the Mechanical Design Delivery team.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant technical standards and project requirements.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or nearing completion of Chartership.
- Experience within a design consultancy or contractor design environment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant mechanical engineering standards.
- Experience with software such as IES, HEVACOMP, NBS and Revit.
- CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant (LCC) qualification.
- Strong understanding of building services design and technical calculations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage project deliverables, budgets and deadlines.
- Proactive approach with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
