Senior / Principal Engineer – Renewables

About the Role
A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Engineer – Renewables to join its Sustainable Infrastructure team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects, including wind farms, solar farms and battery energy storage systems (BESS). You will contribute to projects across design, independent checking, Design & Build and Owner’s Engineer services.
The role offers strong opportunities for professional development and progression towards Associate and Director-level positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to multidisciplinary design teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to required quality standards.
- Prepare engineering designs, technical reports and tender documentation.
- Plan and coordinate design activities with Engineering Discipline Leads and Technicians.
- Supervise, mentor and support junior and senior engineering staff.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and technical specialists.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, stakeholders and subconsultants.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, Health & Safety requirements and relevant legislation.
- Support project delivery from design through to construction.
- Attend site visits, client meetings and stakeholder engagements.
- Contribute to the continued development of renewable energy services.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- Minimum 8 years’ postgraduate experience for Senior level or 12 years for Principal level.
- Strong experience in infrastructure design and project delivery in Ireland or the UK.
- Experience in renewable energy projects is advantageous.
- Design & Build experience would be beneficial.
- Proven multidisciplinary design management experience.
- Strong client, stakeholder and subconsultant engagement skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational and analytical abilities.
- Flexible, collaborative and able to work effectively within a team.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
