About the Role
A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager to join its Sustainable Infrastructure team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Civil Engineer with 12+ years’ postgraduate experience to take a senior role in the delivery of major infrastructure projects across Ireland. The portfolio includes national roads, greenways, active travel, public transport, renewable energy and Design & Build projects.
The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships and oversee projects from design through to delivery, with clear opportunities for progression into Associate and Director-level positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary design teams to deliver projects on time, within budget and to required quality standards.
- Manage project programmes, resources and technical deliverables.
- Supervise, mentor and develop senior and junior engineering staff.
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications and tender documentation.
- Plan and coordinate design activities with Engineering Discipline Leads and Technicians.
- Manage client relationships and project communications.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, subconsultants and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems and Health & Safety legislation.
- Monitor project budgets, resources and delivery requirements.
- Support the successful delivery of Design & Build projects.
- Attend site visits, client meetings and stakeholder engagements.
- Contribute to business development and project proposals where required.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- Minimum 12 years’ postgraduate experience in infrastructure design and project management.
- Proven multidisciplinary design management experience.
- Experience delivering infrastructure projects in Ireland.
- Highway or greenway experience to TII and NTA standards is advantageous.
- Design & Build experience would be beneficial.
- Strong client, stakeholder and subconsultant management skills.
- Experience creating and managing project budgets.
- Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
