About the Role
A leading Irish multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate Director – Civil & Environmental Engineering to join its growing Circular Economy and Environmental team.
This senior leadership opportunity is suited to an experienced professional with 15+ years’ industry experience, offering involvement across a diverse portfolio of major environmental and circular economy infrastructure projects. These may include waste treatment facilities, recycling facilities, waste transfer stations, energy-from-waste projects, landfill remediation, landfill engineering and public realm developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil and environmental design teams, ensuring projects meet programme, budget and quality requirements.
- Manage multidisciplinary project delivery and coordinate technical outputs.
- Develop new business opportunities and strengthen client relationships.
- Mentor and support senior and junior engineering professionals.
- Prepare and review technical reports, designs and tender documentation.
- Plan and manage design workflows in collaboration with Project Owners and technical leads.
- Oversee project budgets, financial performance and commercial delivery.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems and Health & Safety requirements.
- Coordinate clients, subconsultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Attend site visits, client meetings and stakeholder engagements.
- Contribute to business development and strategic growth activities.
- Support planning processes and, where required, present at Oral Hearings.
Requirements
- Level 8 or Level 9 qualification in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- Minimum 15+ years’ professional experience in engineering design and project leadership.
- Proven multidisciplinary design management experience.
- Strong client, stakeholder and subconsultant management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in business development and winning new work.
- Strong financial and budget management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, analytical and leadership skills.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel.
